Mimbres Harvest Festival & Health Care Fair is this weekend - Saturday, September 28 from 10 am to 4 pm at the San Lorenzo School in Mimbres NM. This is a great fun event for the whole family - lots of vendors, food, music, contests and some great health care information - all in one spot! Free parking and free admission! We are proud sponsors of the fair and hope to see you there! Don't miss this annual event!
OPEN ENROLLMENT - You'll hear lots about it - here's the scoop!
Major Medical Open Enrollment for People Not on Medicare - November 1 through December 15 is your opportunity to review, change your major medical coverage through the Health Care Exchange. Plans, premiums and tax credits change every year, so we recommend calling for an appointment to sit down with us and review your options. If you need an evening or weekend appointment - let us know. We'll be happy to accommodate your schedule and if you have a friend who can use some help with this - please give them our number!
Medicare Open Enrollment - October 15 - December 7 - This is your opportunity to change your prescription drug plan (Part D) for 2020. Plans and premiums change every year and Carol is an expert in helping you choose the plan that will best fit your needs. Give Carol a call to set up an appointment to go over your options. You can also email her your prescription list and preferred pharmacy. Her email is [email protected]
You'll hear a lot of advertising about Medicare Advantage plans. They sound attractive - no premium and extra goodies. We don't recommend them for several reasons - these plans have copays and other costs which can easily run over $6,000 a year. They also have networks and not all providers take them - so your choices of doctor and facility are limited. I firmly believe that old fashioned Medicare and a supplement are still the best value options and that is what I recommend.
Confusion...Confusion...Confusion...... Some advertisements are incorrectly claiming that you're losing your Medicare Supplement Plan F after the 1st of the year.
THIS IS NOT TRUE!
If you have a Medicare Supplement Plan F or are eligible for one now, you will be able to keep that plan and you'll be able to purchase one in the future. Medicare Supplement Plan F will not be available to anyone who is eligible for Medicare AFTER January 1 2020. So if you have an F and like it - you're good to go.
If you have questions please don't hesitate to give us a call at 575-956-6394 - we forward the phones when the office is closed so we're always available to assist you.
Sincerely,
Tom, Carol & Magen
